AWOL for Steelhead

Sorry for the lack of fishing reports over the last two weeks, but we have some good excuses (with pictures to show for it).  Trey and I went down to the Clearwater River in NW Idaho to do some fishing with our buddy Steve Mock.  Steve is our head guide at the Slide Inn, but he moves his guiding operation from trout to Steelhead after October 1st.  He taught both Trey and I to swing flies with spey rods a couple of years ago, and it has really started to pay off.  The season is still in full swing (pun intended), and anyone looking to pursue big steelhead (avg. clearwater fish is 30″) can book a trip with Steve through the clearwater river company.  Here are just a few of many pictures we took- John

Olive Boogie Man

Both the Olive and Black Boogie Man have been taking some really nice browns and rainbows out of the Upper Madison these past few weeks.  Try one on your home waters…you might find some fish out there that you never knew existed.
